Literary Blanket: The Magic Mountain

$210.00

“We’ll just stick to blankets. I’ll find some use for them again down below - people have blankets everywhere. There’s nothing so special or sensational about blankets.”

Or so said Hans Castorp in Thomas Mann’s 1924 megalith The Magic Mountain. We won’t get too deep into the context and content of this seemingly innocuous observation, but suffice it to say, there’s a lot here to unpack. This blanket has been in the works for quite some time. 7 years in fact. Which happens to be the duration of Hans’ sojourn on the mountain…. Coincidence?

Limited edition of 30 blankets. Each blanket comes with a vinyl ribbon featuring the weave draft for this this non-repeating doublewoven text construction. All 2064 rows of it….

Woven with a mix of cotton and deadstock mixed fibers / machine wash cold and tumble dry / 59” x 55”
